insurance.
Dog's
Bill of Rights
- We have the right to be full
members of our family.
- We have the right to
stimulation. We need new games, new toys, new experiences and new
smells to be happy.
- We have the right to regular
exercise. Without it we can become hyper, sluggish, or fat.
- We have the right to be petted and
scratched behind the ears. It feels so good to be touched and we
need to know you care.
- We have the right to have
fun. We enjoy acting like clowns now and then; don't expect us to be
predicable all the time.
- We have the right to quality
care. Please stay friends with our vet.
- We have the right to good grooming.
We like to look and feel our best. Remember, clean dogs are
healthier dogs.
- We have the right to a good
diet. Just like people, sometimes we don't know what is
best for us. We depend on you.
- We have the right to daily
fresh water. Please remember that we require water to be available
at all times to quench our thirst and keep us hydrated.
- We have the right to safe
shelter and ask that you provide a place that is for our use only.
Please respect our right to have time to ourselves when we need
it.
- We have the right to a clean
and safe yard. We have the right to know the boundaries so we don't
roam outside of them.
- We have the right to be kept
safe while traveling in the family car. Please protect us with a safe cage
or seat belt.
- We have the right to be
identified at all times. Please put our name and address on our
collars whenever we are outside of our home.
- We have the right not to be
rejected because of your expectations that we be great show pets,
watchdogs, hunters or babysitters.
- We have the right not to be
ridiculed or teased. Please be sure when company comes over that you
protect us from any harm. Especially watch children who may not know
how to behave around a dog.
- We have the right to receive
proper training. Otherwise, our good relationship could become
marred by confusion and strife, and we could become dangerous to ourselves
and others.
- We have the right to
guidance and correction based on understanding and compassion, rather than
abuse.
- We have the right to live
with dignity, and when the time comes... to die with dignity. We ask
that if at all possible, you'll be with us... to comfort us as we pass
on.
